Job description

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Haveringto assist with the appointment of a Project Manager, on a 5-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: £330.88 - £449.00 per Day

Summary:

The Project Manager will lead on refurbishment, reinvestment, and new build schemes within Housing Property Services. This involves full project lifecycle management from planning and procurement through to contract administration and delivery. The role requires coordination across departments, consultants, and contractors to ensure high-quality results, resident satisfaction, and statutory compliance.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver new build, reinvestment, and refurbishment projects from concept to completion.
• Produce project plans, specifications, cost estimates, and procurement documentation.
• Commission and manage multidisciplinary consultants and contractors.
• Monitor project performance, budgets, and compliance with council and statutory regulations.
• Ensure detailed technical documentation is maintained for audit and quality assurance.
• Support wider Housing objectives through cross-department collaboration.
• Assist with mentoring junior team members, including an Apprentice Project Manager.

Qualification:

• HND/NVQ Level 4 or similar qualification in Building, Housing, or a related subject

Essentials:

• Strong understanding of housing development, construction, and refurbishment practices.
• Proven project management experience within local authority, housing association, or similar environments.
• Excellent communication, planning, and stakeholder engagement skills.
