Job summary

A leading recruitment firm in the UK is seeking an experienced Project Manager to support a nuclear defence facility near Reading. The role requires 5+ years' experience in delivering complex, regulated construction projects and strong knowledge of Instrumentation & Control systems. Candidates must hold SC clearance or be eligible to obtain it. This is a contract role for 9 months, aimed at ensuring project success in safety-critical environments.

Project Manager
Location: Reading
Type: 9 Months | Contract

We are hiring a Project Manager to support a major nuclear defence facility near Reading. This client-side role requires experience delivering complex construction projects within highly regulated environments. SC clearance is required, with the ability to obtain DV clearance. Experience delivering Instrumentation & Control (I&C) Systems is essential.

Requirement
  • Degree-qualified with APM, PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent PM certifications.
  • 5+ years' experience delivering large-scale, regulated construction projects.
  • Background in nuclear, defence, or other high-security environments.
  • Experience delivering Instrumentation & Control (I&C) systems.
  • Experience working on secure, safety-critical sites.
What You'll Be Doing
  • Lead the delivery of complex construction projects within a nuclear environment.
  • Manage key site work packages, ensuring schedule, quality, and safety compliance.
  • Oversee project controls and commercial processes (NEC3/NEC4).
  • Drive risk, budget, and progress management to meet project milestones.
Security Requirements
  • Hold SC clearance or be eligible to obtain it.
  • Ability to gain DV clearance.
