Job summary

A leading construction firm is seeking an experienced Project Manager for a nuclear build project in Reading. This role involves leading complex construction projects, engaging with stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with nuclear safety standards. Candidates should have over 5 years of project management experience, particularly in highly regulated environments. This contract will be Outside of IR35, offering rates based on experience.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in Project Management, ideally in the defence or construction sector.

  • Demonstrable experience leading multi-contractor and multi-disciplined teams.

Job description

Project Manager

Our client is currently looking for a Project Manager that has experience of completing complex construction projects within the defence sector. The project will be working on a nuclear build project within the Reading area and will be offering an Outside of IR35 contract with rates that will be commensurate to your experience. The role will require candidates to be of Sole British nationality due to the nature of the project and the possibility of DV clearance being required.

Candidates must have experience of delivering Control and Instrument systems in previous positions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leading the operational management and delivery of projects.
  • Building relationships with key stakeholders (Client, Contractors, project delivery functions) and maintaining regular communication.
  • Leading key packages of site works.
  • Ensuring nuclear safety and quality requirements are achieved to the highest standard.
  • Performing against a tight schedule and budget through effective management of deliverables, quality requirements, risk, and opportunity management.
  • Creating an inclusive environment, leading, and motivating others to achieve and deliver successful project outcomes.
  • Managing and supporting others in implementation and application of project controls and commercial management (NEC3 & 4).
  • Ensure that key deliverables within each stage of the project are being achieved to the highest standard on a consistent basis.
About you
  • Educated to Degree level (or equivalent) in a related field and have certifications in project management (e.g. APM, PMP, PRINCE2 etc.)
  • Experience in delivering large scale and complex construction projects.
  • Minimum of 5yrs experience in Project Management and working in a highly regulated environment.
  • Experience in leading multi contractor and multi-disciplined teams.
  • Demonstrable stakeholder management skills.
  • The ability to thrive in pressure situations is essential.
