We are looking to recruit a Project Manager to join our Corporate Project Office team. This is an exciting role within the Service for an experienced individual to support with the delivery of a number of externally funded schemes within the Economy and Regeneration Service.

About the role

You will have responsibility for leading and managing the delivery of multiple, high-profile capital funding programmes that the Strategic Economic Investment team lead on for the Authority and for Growing Mid Wales. This is a pivotal role that enables the strategic delivery of Ceredigion and Mid Wales’ economic priorities and will see you work directly with the Corporate Manager and other Senior Officers to manage the funding successfully.

On a day to basis, you will:

  • Act on behalf of the Corporate Manager to manage assigned funding programmes. Acting as the principal point of contact with UK/Welsh Government.
  • Oversee and implement fund governance and management arrangements to support local fund delivery and regional oversight.
  • Lead the co‑ordination and own the overall schedule of reporting to Government. Ensuring clear milestones are set with delivery partners and working with internal colleagues (e.g. finance) to review and approve reports for timely submission.
  • Support the S151 and their team to implement relevant financial controls and processing mechanisms.
  • Oversee fund guidance and ensure a common approvals process is enacted.
  • Lead the strategy for audit, document management, record keeping and compliance for assigned programmes.
  • Oversee and direct assigned resources (budget and people) to support effective delivery of assigned programmes.
  • Maintain risk and issue logs. Manage potential risk areas, working with delivery partners and internal teams.

About the candidate

We are looking for an experienced, suitably qualified candidate with proven experience in successfully managing the delivery of large projects and programmes. This includes experience of monitoring programme and projects in areas of planning, risks, issues, finance and resources. You will have experience of engaging with a range of internal and external stakeholders, excellent report writing skills and the ability to collate and disseminate information and prioritise and deliver tasks to tight deadlines.
