Job description

The University of Oxford has one of the largest and most successful chemistry departments in the world, and the Department of Chemistry is seeking to appoint a Project Manager to support an exciting international research collaboration.

About the role

This role is offered on a part-time basis (0.4 FTE / 15 hours per week).
This role is part of the European Innovation Council-funded project "Photoelectrochemical CO Reduction Enhanced by Device Integration and Computational Techniques (PREDICT)", a major collaborative programme involving seven academic and industry partners across Europe.
As Project Manager, you will support the effective coordination and implementation of the project. Acting as a key point of contact between consortium partners, and between the consortium and the European Commission, you will help ensure the smooth running of project activities.
Working closely with the Project Coordinator (Professor Michail Stamatakis) and the Scientific Coordinator (Professor Giancarlo Cicero, Politecnico di Torino), you will manage and support the administrative, financial and contractual aspects of the project. This will include maintaining project documentation and communication processes, monitoring budgets and resource allocation, supporting reporting requirements, and facilitating collaboration across partners and stakeholders.
This is a varied role with significant external engagement, requiring strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to support a complex, multi-partner research project.

You will have relevant research experience (typically to PhD level or equivalent) enabling you to engage confidently with the scientific context of the project.
You will bring experience of working within a research environment, including working closely with industry, and a strong track record of stakeholder management across institutional and cultural boundaries.
You will demonstrate excellent organisational and communication skills and will be able to manage multiple priorities effectively. A proactive and adaptable approach is essential, along with the ability to identify opportunities for impact while balancing competing priorities.
Experience of working on collaborative research projects or with complex funding arrangements would be an advantage.
