Job summary

BWB Consulting in the United Kingdom is seeking an experienced project manager to lead delivery of public-sector infrastructure projects. You will apply project life-cycle governance, manage risks and costs, and coordinate with authorities and Tier 1 contractors.

The role requires 5+ years in the public sector, NEC/JCT contract experience, and proficiency with MS Project. Hybrid work options are available, with a focus on collaboration and excellence.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the Public sector.
• Experience with project life-cycles and project governance.
• Demonstrated by professional qualification (APM-PMQ or above).
• NEC Accredited Project Manager in NEC3 or NEC4 is desirable.
• Experience managing contracts including NEC3/NEC4 (ECC/PSC) or JCT family.
• Experience using MS Project for scheduling.
• Experience on large-scale Infrastructure projects.
• Experience liaising with Local Authorities, Highways England, Network Rail, HS2/HS1, National Grid, and Tier 1 Contractors including secondments.

Responsibilities

• Deliver projects safely on time, within budget, and to required quality.
• Provide high-quality project management services with reporting.
• Manage changes and risks throughout the lifecycle with detailed cost and contingency information.
• Organise meetings, maintain records, and communicate with stakeholders.

• Support CDM Regulations compliance across projects.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Project Delivery: Ensure projects are delivered safely on time, within budget, and to the required quality, following the project life cycle, company standards, and relevant legislation.
• Project Management Services: Provide a high-quality, consistent, and effective project management service, including project monitoring and reporting, in line with company standards and client expectations.
• Change and Risk Management: Manage project changes, risks, and contingencies throughout the project life cycle, ensuring detailed cost, contingency, and program information is available.
• Meetings and Communication: Organise and conduct project meetings, maintain accurate records, distribute information to stakeholders, and attend key on-site stages during critical phases.
• Contract Management: Oversee the development of contract assessments and notifications to ensure compliance with project requirements.
• CDM Regulations Compliance: Support the company in meeting its obligations under the CDM Regulations 2015 (Construction, Design, and Management Regulations).

What You’ll Bring

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience and knowledge within the Public sector.
• Experience of working with project life-cycles and project governance.
• Demonstrated by professional qualification (APM-PMQ or above).
• Qualified to NEC Accredited Project Manager in either NEC3 or NEC4 is desirable.
• Experience of the management of contracts including the use of NEC3 / NEC4 (ECC and PSC) or JCT family of contracts and including sub-contractor/consultant management.
• Experienced in using MS Project for project scheduling.
• Experiences gained from working on large-scale Infrastructure projects.
• Experience in working with stakeholders including Local Authorities, Highways England, Network Rail, HS2, HS1, National Grid, and Tier 1 Contractors. Including secondment roles.
