Job summary

A leading recruitment agency seeks an experienced Project Manager for a high-rise accommodation project in Sunderland. You will oversee the project from start to finish, ensuring timely delivery within budget while adhering to quality and safety standards. Candidates should have relevant construction qualifications and experience in high-rise projects. This role is a temp-to-perm position offering £320 - £350 per day.

Project Manager

Are you an experienced Project Manager with a proven track record in high-rise residential or accommodation schemes?

You will be responsible for the successful delivery of a significant high-rise accommodation scheme in Sunderland, overseeing the project from the current stage through to completion.

Start Date: January / February 2026

Contract Rate: £320 - £350 per day (CIS), dependent on experience

Contract type: Temp to perm

Key Responsibilities

• Project Leadership: Managing and leading all aspects of the high-rise construction project, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
• Programme Management: Developing, maintaining, and driving the project programme and schedule.
• Stakeholder Management: Coordinating and communicating effectively with architects, engineers, subcontractors, clients, and local authorities.
• Budget Control: Managing project finances, monitoring costs, handling variations, and ensuring strict adherence to the budget.
• HSE Compliance: Championing health, safety, and environmental excellence, ensuring strict compliance with all regulations and standards, particularly for high-rise buildings.
• Quality Assurance: Implementing and overseeing quality control procedures to ensure a high-quality finished product.
• Team Oversight: Managing on-site teams and specialist contractors.

Requirements

• Experience as a Project Manager on high-rise residential/accommodation construction projects (e.g., apartments, student accommodation).
• Qualifications: A relevant qualification in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• SMSTS, CSCS, First Aid and Temporary Works.
