How you'll play your part

Lead a project team to deliver a solution to the customer within budget, on schedule and within scope. Provide status reports and advice to Management and User Groups.

Main Accountabilities
  • Manage and control project initiation, including scoping, resourcing, cost estimation and stakeholder approval.
  • Lead, monitor and control project performance, including change control, risk management and issue escalation.
  • Determine project quality goals and ensure compliance with Mercedes-Benz standards.
  • Provide day‑to‑day leadership and direction to the project team and manage all project resources, including subcontractors.
  • Engage suppliers, support evaluation and manage adherence to standards for delivery commitments.
  • Coordinate architecture, design and development activities through suppliers or internal resources.
  • Deliver required documentation and ensure compliance with standards and policies.
  • Manage, control and report project budgets and resource utilisation.
  • Establish and execute a communication plan with the project team and the customer; manage formal reporting to MPC.
  • Provide regular project status to sponsors, stakeholders and customers including ITM Management.
  • Manage effective stakeholder communication up to level 4 through steering committee meetings and updates.
  • Provide a full test and release plan for each project or enhancement.
  • Manage user acceptance testing and obtain acceptance of deliverables from business leads or sponsors.
  • Manage handover of project into operational support and perform close and lessons‑learnt activities.
  • Maintain relationships with ITM units, markets and Head Office; ensure project needs are met while sustaining long‑term relationships.
  • Manage Business Partners within UK companies and Head Office functions as required.
  • Manage external service providers to deliver results.
About you
  • Experience with software suppliers and outsourced solution providers.
  • Knowledge of the Automotive Captive Finance market.
  • Application of project management disciplines and processes.
  • Anticipation of potential project related problems and resolution skills.
  • Identification, elimination or containment of technical and business risks.
  • Experience with organisational development and project methodology.
  • Understanding of the IT organisation and current processes.
  • Understanding of concepts associated with organisational change.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Strong customer facing/service skills.
  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills including influencing skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and deal with many tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to work in changing environments where ambiguity exists and judgement calls are required.
  • Ability to work within a team.
  • Ability to manage project budgets.
