Job description
Project Manager – Wakefield

Equans is looking for a Project Manager to join our team in Wakefield on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week with a competitive salary, company vehicle or allowance, bonus and benefits package.

What you will deliver
  • Lead all projects ensuring they are completed with uncompromised efficiency, on time and to budget.
  • Interpret and develop a brief/scope of works in collaboration with the client, achieve sign‑off prior to works commencement, and continue managing projects through to completion.
  • Take full financial responsibility for circa £4M in revenue.
  • Follow the company and on‑site development process, ensuring all documentation (costs, programmes, risk analysis, PPP works documentation, etc.) is prepared and completed.
  • Maintain project files to provide a fully auditable administrative trail in line with ISO accreditation.
  • Produce an overall plan for works (design, procurement, PPP pack review, construction, commissioning, training, etc.) to meet the completion date without incident.
  • Procure competent contractors for design, construction and commissioning.
  • Monitor progress of design, construction and commissioning activities and act to keep time, budget, safety and quality on track.
  • Manage performance of preferred suppliers/subcontractors, ensuring all company and on‑site procedures are followed.
  • Carry out project review meetings following good practice.
  • Remain customer‑focused at all times and deliver value for money; ensure the agreed profit percentage is achieved on all projects.

Qualifications
  • Experience in healthcare FM projects.
  • Working knowledge of Quality Assurance systems and documentation.
  • Completion of a HNC/D in a technical field.
  • Demonstrable experience delivering FM projects.
  • Experience delivering in challenging environments such as healthcare.
  • Strong understanding of project management principles.
  • Excellent team‑working and interpersonal skills.
  • Comprehensive administrative experience in a busy office environment.
  • Sound organisational/coordination skills.

  • Ability to provide professional guidance and task management for junior team members.
  • Capability to mediate conflict situations.
  • Facilities Management experience.
