The M25 is one of our Flagship projects in the UK! It is the most used part of the UK Strategic Road Network with it seeing over 200,000 vehicles per day and it's a critical infrastructure asset for personal and goods vehicles into and around our capital. The network includes around 800 structures and 5 tunnels, so it requires high levels of performance, constant improvement and repairs to keep it operating smoothly.

We've formed a Joint Venture project called Connect Plus Services (CPS) to work with our partners to widen, operate and maintain the M25 under a 30-year contract until 2039 and we are looking for a Mechanical and Electrical Engineer to join our team on the M25 DBFO project. . This position involves undertaking technical reviews and providing direction and leadership for design projects, managing timelines and external consultants, and ensuring effective communication.

The Project Manager delivers project objectives with respect to the six key areas of performance: Health & Safety, Quality, Cost, Environment, Delivery and People.

We are looking for a dynamic and self-motivated individual with a strong project background to join this fast-paced team to deliver the more complex highways and technology schemes throughout their whole project lifecycle. Schemes range in value from £100k to £3m+ and include safety schemes, environmental improvements, technology schemes, remedial works and junction improvement schemes.

Responsibilities:
  • Stakeholder Management - Develop and maintain strong collaborative relationships with the Portfolio Manager, SPM, Construction/Supervisor Teams and key internal and external stakeholders, to ensure full mutual understanding of the projects' delivery objectives, to report on and review project performance, and to agree solutions to issues.
  • Maintaining compliance with the DBFO contract clarifying roles and responsibilities within your team, resolving risks and issues in a timely manner, producing timely and accurate reports, and creating and maintaining specified records including change management.
  • Design, agree and implement project plans, to ensure that all activities are appropriately organised to deliver project objectives, are appropriately resourced to deliver the required outcomes.
  • Lead and oversee programmes throughout their whole lifecycle through feasibility, design, construction and handover. Informing investment proposals for our clients at each stage
  • Contribute to the development of robust cost profiles identifying key risks and quantifying resource requirement.
  • Identify and evaluate emerging risks, issues, dependencies and constraints associated with the project, escalating where appropriate. Where necessary develop, agree and implement solutions to overcome these.
  • Commission and manage the performance of Sub Contractors and Designers as appropriate, ensuring that project objectives and requirements are clearly understood, setting clear expectations for health and safety management, time and cost; and taking appropriate remedial action where necessary.
  • Support the delivery of the business' sustainability activities including net zero and biodiversity net gain.
  • Work closely with the Construction/Supervisor team to ensure permits, certificates and site reporting are managed correctly and align to project needs
  • Managing NEC Contracts Options as Project Manager
  • Working arrangements (shift work, need for travel etc)
  • Ability and willingness to travel to other offices and depots on the network as and when required
  • Periodic requirement for site visits (night shift)
  • Full Driving License
The following qualities/experience are essential:
  • Experience of managing project teams to successfully develop of multiple projects concurrently.
  • A strong collaborator, with integrity and experience of managing relationships with multiple stakeholders and evidence of skills to influence relationships for positive outcomes gaining the involvement and engagement of a wide range of stakeholders.
