A respected main contractor in the UK is looking for a Project Manager to manage a £17m refurbishment of a Grade II listed building near Leatherhead. The ideal candidate will have experience delivering large projects, particularly in refurbishment, and the ability to effectively manage people, design, and client expectations. This role requires strong leadership skills and the capacity for creative problem-solving in a dynamic environment.
Ever opened a wall and thought, That's not in the drawings?' Perfect, this could be one for you….
We're looking for a Project Manager to take a £17m Grade II listed building near Leatherhead from inherited shell to 13 luxury later-living apartments. Terraces, restaurants, communal spaces - the works.
Some of the heavy lifting's already done, but there's plenty still to manage : reduced floor levels, externals, extensions, remodelling, high-end fit-out… and the usual what on earth is behind this wall? moments that make heritage projects thrilling (and occasionally terrifying). If you love the unpredictability of a listed building, this one's made for you.
You’ll have a strong supporting team - Senior Site Manager, Quantity Surveyor - and a main contractor that actually backs its PMs, not just buries them in spreadsheets. You'll need to lead from the front, programme smartly, manage design, keep subcontractors in check, charm clients, and somehow make it all look effortless.
This role could also be know as a Senior Project Manager, Project Director or Project Lead.
A respected, grown-up main contractor with a reputation for delivering complex jobs properly. £120m turnover, growing steadily, supporting its people, and not chasing shiny gimmicks.
Serious about results, seasoned in heritage projects, and able to laugh at the occasional what on earth is that?' moment - this one's for you.
