Job summary

Collins Aerospace in Leighton Buzzard is seeking a Project Manager to lead galley projects for modern passenger aircraft, working closely with the senior program manager and coordinating across engineering, supply chain, manufacturing and commercial teams.

You will create and execute plans, manage dependencies and schedules, maintain project documentation, and drive continuous improvements in a demanding matrix environment, with strong focus on delivering objectives and customer outcomes.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in Project Management in a manufacturing environment (min 2 years).
• Ability to manage projects across a matrix organization with multiple stakeholders.
• Experience with Earned Value Management and product lifecycle stages.
• Proficient in Microsoft Project/Primavera and JDE or SAP.
• Strong planning, documentation, and change management skills.
• Customer-facing exposure and continuous improvement mindset.

Job description

• You will be working very closely with the senior program manager and managing projects in their entirety.
• This is a highly collaborative role so will be working with numerous stakeholders and customers.
• Work within an IPT environment (Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Commercial…) to ensure that the projects under your responsibility are resourced appropriately.
• Create and execute project plans, including revisions where necessary to meet changing needs and requirements. Identify and manage project dependencies and critical paths.
• Managing the day-to-day aspects of projects and keeping them rolling forward to meet agreed timelines. Pro-actively manage and track changes in project scope.
• Project documentation must be accurate and to be kept up to date.
• Working with and managing a core PM team
  Strong project management skills and experience ideally in complex projects in a matrix environment.
• Proven experience in Project Management, ideally within a manufacturing environment demonstrating a minimum of two years.
• Computer literate (Microsoft Office Suite, Project and JDE/SAP)
• Commercial knowledge/awareness and a strong focus on the delivery of objectives
• Good planning skills (Microsoft Project or Primavera)
• Knowledge of Earned Value Management and Product Lifecycle - PDR, CDR, FAI.
• Is a change agent to drive continuous improvements in a highly challenging environment
• Extended customer exposure experience
