Job summary

Ipsum Power is seeking a Project Manager to lead the NW area projects, plan resources, and ensure health and safety compliance. You will coordinate with clients and third parties, manage procurement and subcontractors, and keep projects on schedule and within NEC contract specifications.

The role requires NVQ Level 3 in Electrical & Electronic Eng (HNC preferred), strong HV/LV knowledge, and experience in the electrical utilities sector.

Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 3 Electrical and Electronic Engineering or equivalent.
  • HNC Electrical Engineering or equivalent (preferred).
  • Experience managing projects in the electrical utilities sector.
  • Experience in a commercial, multi-divisional organisation.
  • Detailed understanding of HV/LV electrical installation techniques.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of statutory requirements, legislation and safety practices.
  • Knowledge of NRSWA Streetworks and highway works.
  • Understanding of electrical and civil engineering works.

Responsibilities

  • As a Project Manager, coordinate works with staff and clients to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.
  • Collaborate with Local Authority, Land Owners and other Stakeholders to progress works.
  • Proactively generate leads for Ipsum Power service expansion.
  • Manage procurement and delivery of materials to site and office.
  • Procure and manage subcontractors via Ipsum Power supplier database.
  • Review invoices and ensure correct sign-off on relevant works.
  • Support business in developing new clients and opportunities.
  • Conduct site inspections to verify progress and client satisfaction.

About The Role…

To undertake the management and delivery of working projects and singular works activities in the North West area. The role is inclusive of planning and resourcing of labour, ensuring that all aspects of health and safety are adhered to. Production of both RAMS and SSoW client dependent. Arrange the procurement and delivery of materials to site inclusive of checking all quotations as required.

As a Project Manager you will...
  • Work with all staff and clients to ensure that works are completed both on time and within budget.
  • Work with all relevant 3rd Parties and Stakeholders (Local Authority, Land Owners etc) to ensure works progressed as planned.
  • To pro-actively generate leads and opportunities for the expansion of the service provision of Ipsum Power.
  • To react to other leads from existing customers or in-house.
  • Ability to upsell the HV/LV services to existing customers.
  • Produce RAMS and ensure works follow SSoW.
  • Conduct and produce alteration of work schedules and/or programmes as and when required, and manage works to NEC contract specifications.
  • Undertake site visits to ensure ongoing works are advancing in alinement with schedules/programmes, ensuring client satisfaction and ensuring that no ‘risks’ arise to Ipsum.
  • Communicate with clients as required to assist in the delivery of both new and ongoing works.
  • Manage the procurement and delivery of materials to site and office location that is required for Project and Maintenance work.
  • Management and procurement of sub-contractors via Ipsum Power supplier database.
  • Checking and signing off of relevant invoices attached to the relevant works.
  • Assisting the business in the development of new clients and work.
  • Conduct project site inspections against internal requirements (minimum one per month)
About You…
  • NVQ Level 3 Electrical and Electronic Engineering or equivalent.
  • HNC Electrical Engineering or equivalent(preferred)
  • Experience of project managing in the electrical utilities sector
  • Experience of operating in a commercial, multi-divisional organisation.
  • Detailed understanding of current HV/ LV electrical installation techniques.
  • Solid and up to date knowledge of statutory requirements, legislation and technical advances.
  • Good knowledge of Health and Safety practice and Risk Assessment.
  • Previous experience working in the electrical industry
  • Knowledge of NRSWA Streetworks and working in the Highway
  • Good Understanding of both Electrical & Civil engineering works.
