This is an excellent opportunity for a Project Manager from a heavy civils, rail, water or utilities background to take ownership of a technically demanding project from design development through to completion. The successful Project Manager will oversee programme, commercial performance, design coordination and site delivery, ensuring the highest standards of safety and quality.

  • Monitor project costs, financial forecasts and commercial performance, managing contractual matters and change under NEC3/NEC4.

  • Coordinate design development, temporary works, site investigations, bespoke materials and specialist subcontractors to deliver practical, cost-effective solutions.

  • Manage project teams, subcontractors and suppliers while maintaining strong relationships with clients, consultants and rail infrastructure stakeholders.

  • Oversee health, safety, environmental and quality requirements, including CDM compliance, risk assessments, method statements, inspection and test plans, and handover documentation.

  • Chair progress meetings, report on project performance, resolve technical issues and maintain accurate project records.

Qualifications

  • Good working knowledge of NEC3/NEC4 contracts, design management, cost control, risk management and construction planning.

  • Strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and subcontractors.

Desirable
  • Previous CRE-C experience or the relevant competence to undertake the role, alongside experience of complex bridge or structural works in a rail environment.

  • Knowledge of Network Rail design processes, including GRIP and PACE, and experience working with Thames Water or other major infrastructure clients.

  • Valid PTS and/or London Underground BTA certification, Appointed Person (Lifting) training, NRSWA experience or CEng MICE accreditation.
