Job summary

Essential Employment is seeking a Project Manager to lead end-to-end delivery of complex transformation and change projects in Crewe. The role is full time on a temporary basis with a strong emphasis on governance, planning and stakeholder engagement.

You will develop project plans, manage scope, schedule, budget and quality, and apply recognised project management methodologies. You will work with senior leaders and external partners to achieve measurable improvements.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end delivery of complex transformation and change projects.
• Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, milestones and resource plans.
• Define project scope, objectives, deliverables and success criteria.
• Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to agreed quality standards.
• Apply recognised project management and change management methodologies throughout the project lifecycle.
• Produce and maintain key project documentation including: Project Initiation Documents (PIDs), Project Plans, Risk and Issue Registers, Benefits Realisation Plans, Progress Reports, Change Control Documentation.
• Provide regular updates to project boards, programme boards and senior stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with governance frameworks and approval processes.
• Build effective relationships with senior leaders, service managers and external partners.
• Facilitate workshops and meetings to gather requirements and support decision-making.
• Manage stakeholder expectations and ensure clear communication throughout project delivery.
• Escalate risks, issues and dependencies through appropriate governance routes.
• Analyse existing business processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Support service redesign and transformation initiatives.
• Ensure proposed changes deliver measurable efficiencies and service improvements.
• Drive continuous improvement and best practice approaches across projects.
• Coordinate commissioning, procurement and commercial activity.
• Support commercialisation and business development initiatives.
• Monitor project expenditure and financial performance.
• Track financial and non-financial benefits throughout project implementation.
• Identify, assess and manage project risks and dependencies.
• Monitor project performance against agreed KPIs and objectives.
• Ensure effective controls are in place to support successful delivery.
• Support benefits realisation and post-implementation reviews.
