Job summary

Network Plus is seeking a Project Manager to oversee the operational and financial performance of a contract in Bristol. You will ensure work is delivered safely, on time and within budget, meeting client expectations.

You will lead site resources, manage subcontractors and staff, and coordinate with senior management for performance reporting. A strong emphasis on HSE, risk assessment and regulatory compliance is required.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering or Construction with management focus.
• H&S Qualification IOSH/NEBOSH or similar.
• Familiarity with NEC 4 contracts and CDM 2015.
• Experience with pipelaying, tunnelling and MEICA is desirable.
• Strong communication and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Ensure contract work complies with health, safety, welfare and environmental regulations while maximizing profitability.
• Manage site resources including subcontractors and visiting support to meet delivery targets.
• Assign staff and subcontractors to roles and responsibilities.
• Liaise with Senior Manager for performance and reporting.
• Ensure client authorisation requirements and company standards are met.
• Control documentation with back-office support.
• Assess risk and prepare site-specific method statements and risk assessments.
• Manage resources (labour, materials, plant) and drive profits.
• Lead and develop a high-performing team and delegate where appropriate.
• Promote safety and competence, including training needs.

As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for the operational and financial performance of the contract; delivering the work safely, on time, in budget and to our Client’s expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure all work within the contract under your control are carried out in full compliance with health, safety, welfare and environmental regulations, while working to maximise the profitability of the contract and ensuring satisfaction of contractual requirements
• Manage site resources to meet the successful delivery of the project including subcontractors and visiting support.
• Assign staff and subcontractors to roles and responsibilities.
• Liaise with Senior Manager in relation to performance and reporting
• Ensure compliance with the client’s authorisation requirements and specifications, with the company standards of service and quality systems
• Control documentation, working closely with the back-office support team
• Ensure that the health and safety competence of sub-contract organisation and direct labour are assessed prior to commencing work
• Assess the risk associated with our operations and ensure that the correct site-specific method statements and risk assessments are compiled in advance of works
• Have a keen eye on the commercials of the contract, making sure we can deliver for our clients and maintain profitability
• Manage all resources e.g. labour, materials and plant
• Take pride in our delivery, and make repeat business a measure of success
• Demand safety and competence, including training requirements, and push for improvement in all teams
• Manage and motivate a team, delegating where appropriate, but leading by example
• Have an ordered approach to the development of the people in your area

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

• Degree/HNC/HND or equivalent in Civil Engineering or Construction preferable Knowledge of relevant management techniques (resource management, monitoring and control, Cost Planning and Programme Management)
• H&S Qualification IOSH/NEBOSH or similar
• NRSWA Regulations
• Temporary Works Regulations TWC
• Financial awareness
• Excellent knowledge and understanding of Work Regulations, CDM 2015 H&S at Work Act 1974
• Knowledge of contract law and appropriate Conditions of Contract NEC 4
• Construction practice (pipelaying, tunnelling, MEICA installation, reinforced concrete, flow diversions, etc.)
• Good verbal communication skills
• Good management skills
• Good Computer Skills – emails, Word, Excel etc.
• Clean Driving Licence
