A leading environmental organization in the UK is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead innovative flood risk management projects. This senior role includes overseeing project delivery from planning through to completion and requires significant experience in project and contract management. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills and experience working with stakeholders. This is an on-site position located in Bristol.

We are looking for a Senior Project Manager to lead and deliver exciting, innovative projects that reduce the risk of flooding to communities and enhance the environment across the southwest.
This role sits in Project and Programme Delivery (PPD) and is a senior position within our integrated project team. You will take responsibility for the delivery of projects in your portfolio from initial strategic planning, through to feasibility, detailed design, construction and handover. You will mentor and coach project team members, flexing your involvement to suit the strength of the team. You will be responsible for financial management and delivering results on time.
You will build a great working environment with high performing teams including our suppliers, client representatives, technical specialists and other partners. Applying your strong commercial acumen in project, contract and risk management, you will establish effective relationships, facilitating collaborative and efficient ways of working. You will make key project decisions informed by technical leads whilst following governance procedures, project assurance and legislation.
The ability to develop a resilient network of relationships with stakeholders such as statutory authorities, landowners and local communities to negotiate agreements, consents, approvals and external funding is crucial.

We are Project and Programme Delivery (PPD), part of the Environment Agency's Flood and Coastal Risk Management (FCRM) directorate. The team is comprised of over 80 project delivery professionals working across the southwest.
Our team provides the Environment Agency with effective project and programme management capability, managing projects throughout their lifecycle, delivering flood risk management, environmental improvements and shared ownership with local communities, selects, plans and manages contractors, programmes or events to achieve a set of Environment Agency objectives cost‑effectively.

Question: Describe an infrastructure project or a programme of work that you have delivered, including scale and detail of your responsibilities. Question: Describe a situation where you have had to balance the needs of a variety of stakeholders with differing drivers to reach a successful outcome.
Question: Please give us an example of where you delivered significant results through others on an infrastructure project through contract management, delegating tasks and driving a team to achieve success.
Note that the Environment Agency is not a part of HM Civil Service and you would not be a Crown Servant in the event of being appointed. Therefore, you will not be eligible for continuous service.
