Job summary

QinetiQ Group plc in the UK Defence function seeks a Project Manager to develop, procure and integrate systems on test and evaluation ranges, and to deliver trials, training and operational exercises. You will test, research, supply, prepare and sustain client platforms and weapon systems in safe, realistic environments.

The role is based at Boscombe Down with travel to Aberporth, West Freugh and the Hebrides; 37 hours per week, SC clearance expected, and opportunities to work with cutting-edge

• Essential qualification: Industry recognised qualification such as Prince2, AMP, PMP.

Job description

As a Project Manager in our UK Defence function you will be developing, procuring and integrating systems onto our test and evaluation ranges, together with the deployment and delivery of trials, training and operational exercises Day to day, you'll be testing, researching, supplying, preparing, and sustaining client platforms and weapon systems for operational use by providing test, exercise, modelling, analysis services and laboratory facilities, in safe, realistic and instrumented environments. Your responsibilities will include:

• Development of clear and compelling customer proposals
• Delivery of projects safely and to time, cost and quality
• Production and maintenance of robust project plans and resource/cost schedules (PPM), with which to manage the projects & forecast expenditure
• Regular, open, honest and timely project reporting using corporate tools and in line with financial reporting requirements
  Track record of successful delivery of projects and programmes to defined cost, timescale and budget
• Ability to decompose complex issues, to an appropriate level of detail, in a methodical manner
• First‑hand experience of procurement and tendering processes (e.g. the production of specifications, definition of supplier selection criteria and contracting)
• Experience of systems engineering discipline

This role is 37 hours per week based at our Boscombe Down QinetiQ site with a minimum average site attendance of three days per week. Please note that there will be expected travel to the test sites which are based at Aberporth , West Freugh and the Hebrides.
