Spectrum IT Recruitment is seeking a Project Manager to deliver and manage internal and customer development projects. The role requires bid management experience and a keen eye for detail to ensure delivery within the required time frames and budgets.

Responsibilities

• Act as Bid Manager for Customer bids and assist in creating a fully developed quotation document and costed project model.
• Prepare and present quotation and bid documents, together with costed project models to senior management for review and approval.
• Provide an initial schedule with bid resource estimates to functional heads for accurate low level schedules.
• Project manage allocated projects to time and budget expectations.
• Create a Project Plan including task breakdown, schedule and budget.
• Liaise with lines of business to ensure data accuracy in the Project Plan and smooth Sales-to-Projects transition.
• Request internal and external resources as necessary to achieve tasks.
• Measure progress against the Project Plan, Schedule and Budget and update as required.
• Obtain formal approval for any negative variance to project revenue, profit or schedule.
• Identify project slippages and develop recovery strategies to achieve planned events.
• Keep stakeholders informed of changes to project timescales and remedial actions.
• Assist the Financial Controller in managing financial instruments and timely invoicing against milestones.

Job description

The role of the Project Manager within the company will be to deliver and manage internal and customer development projects. The role will also require the applicant to have strong bid management experience or have had exposure to an aspect of bid management. A keen eye for detail in the delivery of projects in the time frames required and inline with budgets is a key requirement for this position.

Roles and Responsibilities

• To act as Bid Manager for Customer bids and to assist in the creation of a fully developed quotation document and fully costed project model
• To prepare and present quotation and bid documents, together with costed project models to senior management for review and approval
• To provide an initial schedule with bid resource estimates to functional heads to enable them to provide accurate, agreed low level schedules in return
• To project manage allocated projects to time and budget expectations
• To create a Project Plan including task breakdown, schedule and budget
• To liaise with the all lines of business to ensure accuracy of the data in the Project Plan and to achieve a smooth transition from Sales to Projects
• To request internal and external resources as necessary in order to achieve tasks identified as part of a project
• To measure progress against the Project Plan, Schedule and Budget to update as required.
• To obtain formal approval within agreed project criteria for any negative variance to project revenue, profit or schedule
• To identify project slippages and to develop recovery strategies to allow the planned events to be achieved
• To keep all stakeholders aware of any changes to the project timescale and to agree remedial actions
• Assist the Financial Controller in the management of financial instruments and the timely issue of invoices against agreed project milestones

Skills

• Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite of tools; Outlook, Word and Excel in particular
• Proficient with Microsoft Project or a similar project scheduling software application
• Technical information gathering and analysis skills
• Strong PC literacy, good overall ICT skills and appreciation of common hardware and software products
• Internet proficient and cyber security aware
