A leading defense and aerospace firm in the UK is seeking a Project Management Professional - Materials to manage the removal of harmful substances from manufacturing processes and ensure effective project delivery. As the Product Environmental Sustainability PM – Materials you will be co-located in the Materials Governance building managing the schedule and costs against the Chromates project, this consists of 36 processes to remove Chromates (and other Substances of Very High Concern) from the internal manufacturing processes (alternative substances). You would be working for the Product Environmental Obsolescence Project Manager – Delivery.
The removal of Chromates involves the identification, analysis and qualification of alternative substances that need to meet the required specifications – these need to be agreed with the LoB prior to production use of those substances. There are numerous challenges within this role due to the complicated nature of the project.
We have established a Configuration Control Board – you will help to produce the presentation material and co-ordinate any actions for the Materials Governance team. You will be expected to support PM activities for the CCB priorities such as supporting the Supplier Qualification programme.
You will also involve helping to embed future improvements to the obsolescence processes including the digital engineering activity.
