Salary £47,683+ Depending on experience

What you’ll be doing
  • Working with the Product Environmental Obsolescence PM to discharge Product Environmental Sustainment activities and collocated with the Materials Governance team to support removal of Chromates / REACH / ROHs substances from internal manufacturing processes.
  • Scheduling & costs management for the 34 Chromates processes
  • Working with the Programme/Platform Product Environmental Engineers/relevant functions to ensure that all PES activities are working effectively and discharging the legislative requirements.
  • Working with multiple stakeholders of various levels within the organisation
  • Reporting and production of salient packs e.g. business case documents and Configuration Control Board materials
Your skills and experiences

Essential:

  • Knowledge of engineering, manufacturing and procurement
  • Experience scheduling capability and cost management
  • Project Management/Project Control knowledge and experience; including risk and opportunity

Desirable:

  • APMP/APMQ
  • Experience of engineering processes or manufacturing processes

The Materials Governance team:

As the Product Environmental Sustainability PM – Materials you will be co-located in the Materials Governance building managing the schedule and costs against the Chromates project, this consists of 36 processes to remove Chromates (and other Substances of Very High Concern) from the internal manufacturing processes (alternative substances). You would be working for the Product Environmental Obsolescence Project Manager – Delivery.

The removal of Chromates involves the identification, analysis and qualification of alternative substances that need to meet the required specifications – these need to be agreed with the LoB prior to production use of those substances. There are numerous challenges within this role due to the complicated nature of the project.

We have established a Configuration Control Board – you will help to produce the presentation material and co-ordinate any actions for the Materials Governance team. You will be expected to support PM activities for the CCB priorities such as supporting the Supplier Qualification programme.

You will also involve helping to embed future improvements to the obsolescence processes including the digital engineering activity.
