WHAT IS ON OFFER

Alfred H Knight has a fantastic graduate opportunity to join our team in Rotherham, UK, as a Project Management Graduate.

For the first 6 months, you’ll immerse yourself in understanding our business, gaining hands-on experience across operations, laboratory processes, and quality management. This foundation phase will equip you with a broad knowledge of what we do and how we deliver value to our clients.

Following this, you will spend time developing your skills and confidence as you transition into a Junior Project Lead role. Throughout your development, we’ll actively support and guide you in gaining formal project management qualifications.

In this role, you will support managing technical operations, liaising with clients, and ensuring high-quality service delivery within the AHK Group Solid Fuels business, covering sample preparation, sampling, consulting, surveying, and inspection activities. You’ll help maintain compliance with internationally recognised standards and work alongside experienced colleagues to contribute to our operational excellence.

DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?

To be successful at Alfred H Knight you will need to display the following:

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND WORK EXPERIENCE

Essential

• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage priorities and work effectively in a changing environment
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships internally and externally
• A keen interest in technical processes and project management
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google applications, with a willingness to learn other systems like Citrix
• Good numeracy and attention to detail
• A proactive mindset with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
• A commitment to quality, professionalism, and continuous improvement

Required Work Experience

• Previous experience (internships, placements, part-time roles) involving client interaction, teamwork, or technical environments
• Basic understanding or interest in engineering, laboratory testing, or project coordination
• Report writing or customer service experience is advantageous but not essential

Required Qualifications

• A recent graduate (within 2 years) with a degree in Engineering, Science, Project Management, or related fields

Travel

• This role is based in the UK and will include occasional UK and international travel, depending on project needs.
