Job summary

The Project Grant Manager will deliver operational and financial management for the UKRI National Hub (£25M) and ensure effective delivery of a multi-partner research and innovation programme. Job description

The UK Hub for Predictive and AI-Enabled Human Disease Models is a UK national research initiative funded by MRC, which will translate academic New Approach Methodologies (NAMs) into validated, industry-ready systems. The Hub brings together leading scientists, clinicians and commercial organisations to drive advances for national benefit. The Hub is based in the Cambridge Stem Cell Institute (CSCI).

The Project Grant Manager will provide comprehensive operational & financial management for the UKRI National Hub (£25M). They will ensure effective delivery of a complex, multi-partner research and innovation programme and will be responsible for coordinating grant administration, financial monitoring, reporting, governance, and compliance across the Hub.

We are seeking a proactive and highly organised Project Grant Manager to play a central role in the delivery and development of this ambitious programme.

This is a dynamic and visible position at the heart of a high-impact research environment. The post holder will work closely with the Hub Senior Programme Manager, Directors, collaborators and partner organisations. They will support the coordination of scientific, operational, financial and strategic activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate the operational delivery of the UK Hub

• Provide high-level project management support to the Hub leadership team
• Manage the Hub's financial resources
• Develop & maintain effective relationships with stakeholders
• Lead governance & reporting activities
• Support development & implementation of processes to enhance Hub effectiveness
• Ensure compliance with University policies, UKRI requirements, & relevant legislative & regulatory frameworks.

The successful candidate will hold a first degree in in a relevant discipline, or equivalent professional experience and have experience of managing complex projects or programmes, including planning, delivery, monitoring progress, & achieving objectives within agreed timescales & budgets. A recognised project management qualification (e.g. PRINCE2 Practitioner, APM Project Management Qualification, or equivalent) or a willingness to work towards one is desirable. They will be comfortable operating in a fast-paced academic environment and able to engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, including researchers, clinicians, funders, and external partners.

This is an opportunity to contribute directly to this new national Hub and the role offers significant scope to shape how the Hub will operate, connect, and grow, both within Cambridge and across the UK.

Full-time (1.0 FTE; change to part time and flexible working arrangements available);

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available until 31 March 2030 in the first instance.
