Job summary

Gold Group is seeking a Project Engineering Lead in Rugeley to drive engineering delivery across complex projects. You will link technical teams with project management, customers and suppliers, ensuring safe, efficient solutions that meet quality and regulatory standards.

You will guide cross-disciplinary activities, plan workloads, manage risks and mentor engineers to uphold high engineering standards while delivering on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience leading in project-based engineering environments.
• Broad understanding of multidisciplinary systems.
• Experience with design reviews and risk management.
• Knowledge of project planning, scheduling, cost control and change management.

Responsibilities

• Providing technical leadership across engineering projects, guiding engineers and specialists to deliver effective solutions.
• Reviewing engineering designs, specifications and technical documentation to ensure compliance with project requirements and standards.
• Coordinating activities across mechanical, electrical, software and systems engineering disciplines.
• Planning engineering workloads, estimating resource requirements and monitoring progress against project schedules and budgets.
• Identifying and managing technical risks, resolving engineering issues and assessing the impact of project changes.
• Acting as a key technical point of contact for customers, suppliers, contractors and internal stakeholders.
• Supporting project reviews, technical approvals, quality assurance and engineering governance.
• Mentoring and developing engineers, delegating technical activities and promoting accountability and continuous improvement.

Job Title: Project Engineering Lead

We are currently looking for a Project Engineering Lead to join a growing engineering team in Rugeley. This is an opportunity to combine technical leadership with project coordination, working across multiple engineering disciplines to ensure solutions are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest technical standards.

The Role

As Project Engineering Lead, you will take ownership of the engineering delivery within assigned projects, acting as the link between technical teams, project management, customers and suppliers.

You will provide technical direction, coordinate multidisciplinary engineering activities and ensure deliverables are completed on time, within scope and budget, and in line with relevant quality, safety and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
