Job summary

A leading engineering manufacturer in the East Midlands seeks a Project Engineer to control project phases from concept to delivery. You will ensure project scope understanding, manage expectations, and champion continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will have HNC/NVQ 3 level qualifications and extensive CNC machining experience. Competitive salary of up to £50,000 is offered.

Qualifications

  • Qualified to HNC/NVQ 3 level within precision manufacturing.
  • Manufacturing Engineering experience within an audited industry.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of CNC Machining Techniques.

Responsibilities

Are you looking for a role in Precision CNC Engineering that is more varied and different from the norm?

I am working with a very established client who have an enviable reputation as a tier one manufacturer operating at the top table for engineering over 40 years. Due to a re-organisation for the business to grow they are now looking for a Project Engineer

You will be the primary controller between the client and all departments through all the product phases from concept, through design and manufacturing through to delivery. Interested? Read on.

What you will be doing:
  • Be part of the Contract reviews with externally to ensure the scope of the project is fully understood and expectations are established
  • Internally, make sure that all areas are sticking to the plan and designs and to mitigate any delays
  • Decide how the project is manufactured i.e. methods, materials and manpower
  • Define all materials, any sub-contract or third party non engineering requirements
  • Provide full technical support throughout each project being the ‘go to’ subject matter expert
  • Ensure reporting across the business is clear and accurate and reporting to end clients to ensure full transparency
  • Be a champion for Continuous Improvement across all processes for each project, document and implement any improvements
Skills Experience
  • Be qualified to HNC / NVQ 3 level within precision manufacturing
  • Have Manufacturing Engineering experience within an audited industry
  • Have a comprehensive knowledge of CNC Machining Techniques
  • Excellent communicator at all levels both verbally and written
  • CAD/CAM Experience would be a distinct advantage
  • Organised and able to work under pressure
