Job description

With operations in 17 countries and employing over 6,000 staff worldwide, our business responds to the needs of our clients by delivering high-value engineering expertise tailored to our clients’ most complex challenges.

In the UK, we have a key focus in the Nuclear sector, contributing to ground breaking projects, such as Hinkley Point C (HPC).

The Position: Project Engineer - Piping

We are looking for enthusiastic and driven Project Engineer to join our growing team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering critical engineering packages within a major nuclear programme, working alongside multidisciplinary teams and key project stakeholders.

Some of the main responsibilities of the Project Engineer will include:
  • Providing engineering and technical support to the Package Project Management Team.
  • Attending and contributing to weekly and monthly project meetings.
  • Maintaining engineering and manufacturing trackers from design release through to manufacturing completion.
  • Managing engineering change control activities between design and manufacturing phases.
  • Leading the Technical Query process, coordinating with designers, manufacturers, construction teams and other key stakeholders to facilitate timely resolution.
  • Ensuring Technical Query progress and resolutions are accurately maintained within CEMAR.
  • Providing constructability input during design development.
  • Supporting engineering requirements through the manufacturing lifecycle and escalating technical issues where required.
  • Supporting Package Leads and wider multidisciplinary project teams as required.
Preferred Profile:

Alongside a commitment to our values, we are looking for individuals who can bring the following essential skills and experience:

  • Degree qualified (or equivalent) in Engineering, Construction or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience working on engineering projects within a technically complex and highly regulated environment; nuclear experience would be advantageous.
  • Strong knowledge and experience within pipework manufacturing, construction or engineering management.
  • Experience managing technical queries, engineering changes and interfaces between design, manufacturing and construction teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver engineering activities safely, to the required quality, programme and cost.
  • A meticulous, structured and analytical approach to engineering.
  • Ability to work autonomously while effectively managing priorities and escalating issues when required.
  • Working knowledge of CDM Regulations along with Microsoft Office and engineering/project management tools such as PDMS, Navisworks, CEMAR and Teamcenter, or equivalent.
  • Reside locally to HPC or be prepared to relocate, as this permanent role does not include travel expense coverage.

Please note that visa sponsorship is not guaranteed and is assessed on a case-by-case basis, depending on role criticality and project needs. Many of our UK projects require high-level security clearance, meaning we can often only consider candidates with an existing, indefinite right to work in the UK. Exceptionally, we may consider visa sponsorship for applicants with niche experience aligned to our core work (e.g. EPR/nuclear new build).

We offer a competitive salary tailored to your experience and background. Whether you're earlier in your career or bring more senior-level expertise, we encourage you to apply if this role aligns with your skills, or if you're open to discussing other opportunities within this discipline.

We also offer a benefits package, both standard and enhanced, which is designed to support your wellbeing, development, and financial future, including:

  • 25 Days Annual Leave + Bank Holidays, with the ability to swap bank holidays for cultural or religious celebrations
  • Enhanced Maternity, Paternity, Adoption and Neonatal Care Leave
  • Employee Referral Scheme
  • Private Medical & Dental Insurance
  • Electric Vehicle Scheme
  • Cycle to Work Scheme
  • Training & Development, including additional qualifications and accreditations relevant to your role
  • Travel Insurance – for both business and personal travel
  • Employee Assistance Programme
