Job summary

Mechanica Utilities Ltd is recruiting a Project Engineer to support site-based projects from design to commissioning. The role is based at our Chichester office and reports to the Project Manager.

You will assist with site surveys, technical specifications, quoting, delivery and commissioning, while coordinating with subcontractors and suppliers to meet timelines. The position demands strong planning, communication and problem-solving skills, with a focus on health, safety and environmental

Qualifications

• Assist in planning and scheduling project activities in accordance with client specifications and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate with design teams, subcontractors and suppliers to ensure technical compliance and on-time delivery.
• Monitor project progress; identify risks or issues and propose mitigation strategies.

Responsibilities

• Support the Project Manager in delivering projects from design through to commissioning and handover.
• Assist in planning and scheduling project activities in accordance with client specifications and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate with design teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure technical compliance and delivery timelines.
• Prepare and review technical documentation including method statements, risk assessments and project reports.
• Monitor project progress; identify risks or issues and propose mitigation strategies. Attend site meetings and liaise with clients, contractors and internal stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental standards throughout project execution.
• Manage quality assurance processes including inspections, testing and documentation.
• Support cost tracking and provide input for project budgeting and forecasting
• Maintain accurate internal and external documentation for project records and regulatory compliance.
