Job summary

A leading engineering firm is seeking a Project Engineer / Work Order Card Specifier to manage documentation and specifications for work packages in the nuclear sector. The candidate must have experience with writing work order cards and risk assessments. This role offers flexible working with one week on site per month in the UK. Ideal candidates will possess a mechanical bias and understanding of APSA qualifications.

Qualifications

  • Experience in writing Work Order Cards for nuclear power stations.
  • Specification of work order packages for Refuelling Outage.
  • Mechanical and Control & Instrumentation engineering bias is ideal.

Responsibilities

  • Manage documentation and risk assessments for work order packages.
  • Conduct site walk downs to identify deficiencies for complex jobs.
  • Verify defects and equipment problems and assemble work packs.

Project Engineer / Work Order Card Specifiers

Long term contract available on a rotational basis - One week on site a month and can work from anywhere in the UK.

Experience required / Job description
  • Experience in writing Work order cards for nuclear power stations
  • Specification of work order packages for Refuelling Outage
  • Experience in nuclear plant ideal
  • Experience of engineering/specification of work order packages
  • Mechanical and Control & Instrumentation engineering bias
  • Ability to specify, approve, and conduct Authorised Person Safety Assessment (APSA) of tasks.
  • APSA qualification preferred
  • Work will be carried out via preparing and managing documentation, managing risk assessments, reviewing spares and attending the relevant work planning meetings
  • Work will also require site walk downs to identify potential deficiencies for complex jobs, including identifying the need for additional tasks and resources, verifying defects and equipment problems, and assembling work packs
Knowledge of the following would be ideal
  • Familiar with EDF, processes and procedures including their AMS system
  • Ability to write Routines
  • Have a good understanding of Microsoft Office programmes
  • An understanding of how work is planned and actioned to allow for the production of the Work Order Cards in a systematic order
