About the Opportunity

NRL is currently recruiting a Project Engineer to join one of our leading clients in their Nuclear Power Engineering and Technical Services team. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a high‑performing project team within a critical sector, supporting the delivery of complex engineering works on a key site within the UK's nuclear fleet. You’ll work within a highly regulated environment and collaborate with a range of stakeholders to ensure the safe, timely, and efficient execution of engineering projects. You’ll be supported by experienced professionals and offered development opportunities to grow your project delivery and leadership skills in a respected, forward‑thinking organisation.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Supporting the Project Manager and Construction Manager across all stages of assigned project work.
  • Managing project delivery from assignment through to completion, ensuring high standards of safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
  • Preparing and maintaining engineering documentation such as quality plans and technical specifications.
  • Reviewing contractor documents, managing technical queries, and supporting site surveys and feasibility studies.
  • Supporting contractor selection and placement processes, and liaising with station engineering teams and designers.
  • Ensuring all project activities comply with applicable legislation, safety and environmental standards, and company procedures.
  • Providing input into project options appraisals and delivering accurate reporting and updates to stakeholders.
What You’ll Need
  • HND or higher qualification in Engineering (Chartered status preferred).
  • Proven experience in delivering projects within highly regulated environments, ideally nuclear or energy.
  • A current Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) qualification.
  • APMP or equivalent project management certification (preferred).
  • Strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships and work collaboratively in a team‑focused environment.
  • Demonstrable commitment to health, safety, and environmental best practices.
