Project Engineer

Are you happy to take ownership of delivering engineering projects from concept to completion, with a strong focus on safety, quality, and customer satisfaction? You will lead from the front, champion best practices, and foster a culture of continuous improvement and safety‑first thinking.

Key responsibilities
  • Interpret customer specifications, work instructions and drawings.
  • Produce and review drawings against suitability for manufacture.
  • Research technical information and quality documentation in response to customer requirements.
  • Source equipment and produce purchase specifications to support procurement.
  • Negotiate cost prices and lead times, prepare tender documentation for smaller projects.
  • Support project managers on larger projects managing technical queries.
  • Manage projects, offering guidance to the site team and working with the Project Manager to solve unforeseen issues.
  • Co‑ordinate installation activity and adhere to programme delivery.
  • Monitor project scopes and administer contracts, addressing contract changes through NEC or standalone contracts.
  • Identify efficiency gains; ensure resource/material/equipment is available for site welding/assembly activity.
  • Ensure equipment is built/installed to the customers drawings and information.
  • Maintain a strong working relationship with the client by providing first‑class service.
What you need for the role
  • Degree level qualification in Engineering or similar.
  • Ability to produce and interpret mechanical drawings and work instructions.
  • Logical, analytical and innovative thinking on a range of technical problems.
  • Commercial awareness and knowledge of NEC3 Engineering and Construction Contracts.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and AutoCAD.

37.5 hours, Mon‑Fri, 8 am‑5 pm Mon‑Thu and 8 am‑12 pm Fri

Salary

£45‑60K per annum, DOE
