Copello are supporting a Defence client in their search for a driven and detail oriented Project Engineer to lead engineering projects focused on marine electro-mechanical systems. You'll play a key role in ensuring timely, high quality product delivery, from technical specification to supplier coordination and stakeholder engagement. What You’ll Be Doing As a Project Engineer, you’ll be at the centre of technical delivery, ensuring everything runs smoothly, on time, and to the highest standards. Your responsibilities will include: Leading and coordinating engineering projects — especially those involving externally manufactured systems. Creating technical specifications, overseeing configuration and providing ongoing support for product manufacture. Ensuring on-time delivery and product quality, supported by robust technical documentation. Working closely with the Systems and Design teams to develop requirements, specs, and compliance documents. Managing change control processes in line with our Engineering Business Management System (BMS). Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, suppliers, and cross‑functional teams. Supporting multidisciplinary project teams (Mechanical, Electrical). Mentoring junior engineers and contributing to team development and knowledge sharing. What We’re Looking For To thrive in this role, you’ll bring: A degree (BEng Hons or equivalent) in Mechanical, Electrical, Naval, Aerospace or related engineering/scientific discipline. Chartered Engineer (CEng) status or actively working towards it. Solid engineering experience, ideally with a background in mechanical/electrical systems. Knowledge or experience with marine pump systems (highly desirable). Strong project management and organisation skills. Eligibility for SC-level security clearance (essential).
