The Project Engineer will be working for a leading specialist in precision engineering solutions, working with some of the most respected names in the automotive and manufacturing industries. Due to continued growth.

This is an exciting opportunity for a technically minded engineer who enjoys bridging the gap between design, manufacturing, and customer expectations. You’ll play a key role in ensuring all engineering deliverables meet quality standards, manufacturability requirements, and customer needs.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities & day to day duties

• As a Project Engineer you will be responsible for:

• Participate in project kick-off meetings with customers, suppliers, and internal teams.
• Review and validate CAD models and engineering drawings for feasibility and manufacturability, reporting and escalating any issues with the drawings.
• Conduct feasibility and design reviews in collaboration with Quality, Operations, and Project Management.
• Drive technical actions to support new product introductions and continuous improvement.
• Play a key role in the “OK to Ship” approval process.
• Liaise directly with customers and suppliers to resolve technical queries and recommend design improvements.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring all designs meet required industry and quality standards.

Skills & experience required

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong understanding of CAD design, technical drawings, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as injection moulding, sheet metal, castings, and extrusions.
• Experience applying Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles.
• Excellent communication skills with experience working in cross-functional teams.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical mindset.
• Experience within automotive or precision manufacturing environments .
• Ideal for candidates who enjoy the technical challenge of translating design intent into manufacturable reality.
