Description: We are hiring for our client, an established machinery design, automation, and control systems specialist, who are seeking a Project Engineer to join their growing team. Working across sectors such as Food & Beverage, Water & Wastewater, and wider automated processing, this Project Engineer role offers a strong blend of design, hands‑on commissioning, and project delivery. The ideal candidate will thrive in a practical, technical environment and be experienced in building control panels, fault‑finding and basic PLC work, and installing automated equipment such as conveyors, pelleting systems, and integrated machinery.

  • Review and prepare technical drawings, documentation, and schematics.
  • Oversee installation and commissioning of automated systems, conveyors, palletising equipment, and associated machinery.
  • Provide hands‑on troubleshooting support for machinery, PLC‑controlled systems, and electrical components.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant safety and regulatory standards.
The Person:
  • HNC/HND (or higher) in Mechatronics or Electrical Engineering.
  • Strong background in machinery maintenance or engineering roles.
  • Comfortable with control panel assembly, electrical schematics, and hands‑on installation.
  • Experience with PLCs (fault‑finding/programming), pumps, motors, drives, and automation equipment.
  • Technically curious with strong problem‑solving ability.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
Desirable:
  • Experience in food processing, packaging, automation, or water industries.
  • Mitsubishi PLC programming experience.
  • Experience with commissioning, servo systems, flowmeters, loadcells, and automation sensors.
  • 18th Edition or electrical installation background.
