Purpose of Role
This role is responsible for designing and managing small capital investment projects (less than £250k), with the support of the Project Manager, to ensure Deeside Cereals' capital funds are spent in line with the business strategy and requirements. The role also supports management of contractors and the health & safety file on larger projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Review project objectives and define full scope of work, complete specification requirements for tender submission.
- Complete fair tender process for project proposal and complete terms & conditions, manage contract negotiations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and prepare the project Capital Submission CAF, manage the budget and timeline for project implementation.
- Prepare project timeline, manage cross-functional stakeholders, plan appropriate window with the Operations Manager, Engineering, Hygiene, Technical, etc.
- Manage project risks, including schedule and project conflicts.
- Approve designs, ensuring compliance with PUWER, DSEAR, and Food Safety standards.
- Review and approve RAMS before commencement of work onsite.
- Complete training to manage work onsite, issuing permits to work, and managing high-risk activities in accordance with legislation and Deeside Cereals' policies.
- Prepare and complete CDM health and safety project file.
- Induct contractors and manage health and safety while work is undertaken onsite. Complete H&S audits. Undertake site EHS audits of the area.
- Conduct regular project reviews and status updates to stakeholders. Prepare monthly project update reports and stage gate progression.
- Be responsible for successful project delivery including management of stakeholders, project team, and effective communication throughout the business.
- The job holder is required to do all tasks considered relevant by their line manager.
- Responsible for Food Safety, Quality and Legality.

Requirements
- Recognised Engineering qualification (Degree or equivalent).
- Suitable safety qualifications (e.g. SMSTS, FAAW and IOSH).
- Effective stakeholder management and influencing skills.
- Excellent analytic and problem-solving skills, with the ability to quickly understand business processes and technical requirements.
- Competent with MS Office and standard Engineering applications.
- Organised and methodical.
- Highly computer literate with experience of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
