The role

As a Project Engineer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll be at the heart of delivering complex, safety-critical projects that make a real difference to national infrastructure. This is an exciting opportunity to lead multi‑disciplinary teams, drive innovation, and ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget. Your work will shape the future of clean energy and defence, while accelerating your own career development.

Day-to-day, you’ll be

  • Supporting the Project Manager to deliver projects safely, on time, and to budget.
  • Leading multi‑disciplinary teams to deliver work packages on site.
  • Preparing and maintaining project documentation, including plans and quality briefs.
  • Monitoring progress against milestones and budgets, reporting to stakeholders.
  • Chairing project meetings and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.

You’ll work 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, based at Aztec West, Bristol or Hinkley Point C, Bridgwater, Somerset with travel between the two sites. Accommodation and travel costs can be claimed if you live more than 1.5 hours from the HPC site.

Essential experience of the Project Engineer
  • Proven experience in project delivery within engineering or construction.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects from concept to operation.
  • Strong health and safety knowledge and culture, with familiarity with legislation.
Qualifications for the Project Engineer
  • HNC/ONC qualification as minimum within an engineering, construction, or related discipline.
