Job summary

A recruitment agency is seeking a keen project engineer in either electrical or mechanical engineering to further their career in project management. The role requires an HNC qualified candidate with strong communication skills who can handle project planning, coordination, and documentation. Flexible working hours with opportunities for training and development. Travel may be required within the UK and abroad.

Qualifications

  • Minimum HNC qualified in a suitable engineering discipline.
  • An apprenticeship in an Engineering discipline.
  • Able to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Available for travel both in the UK and abroad as needed.
  • Good interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and define the scope of projects and meet customer requirements.
  • Estimate project timescales and costs.
  • Control and complete project documentation.
  • Monitor and report progress to management and customers.
  • Liaise with customers and sub-contractors.
  • Check CAD designs before customer approval.

Overview

Job Summary: This role will be suited to a keen and enthusiastic project engineer in either electrical or mechanical engineering, looking to further their career in project management. Reporting to a Project Manager, you will work closely with technical sales, Design and Production to help you with the initiation, planning, design, execution, monitoring, controlling and closure of projects. In this role you will be assisted in your development with internal and external training (as required).

Working hours

You will work Monday-Thursday with week 1 Friday off and week 2 Friday working 4 hours. The working hours are flexible starting between 07:00-09:00 and finishing between 16:15-18:15 Monday-Thursday, same start time on the Friday worked but finishing between 11:00-13:00.

Responsibilities
  • Planning and defining scope of Project, including meeting customer specifications and requirements
  • Project timescale estimating
  • Cost estimating and budget planning to meet the finical objectives of the customer project and Veotec
  • Control and completion of project documentation including but not limited to; Quality Plans, Certificates of Conformity, Installation, Operation & Maintenance Instructions
  • Monitoring and reporting progress to both senior management and customer
  • Liaising with customers and sub-contract companies
  • Checking of CAD designs / drawings prior to customer approval
  • Generation of MRP parts / Bills of Materials / Works Orders / Drawing Packages for Production
Skills and experiences required / Qualifications
  • Minimum HNC qualified in a suitable engineering discipline
  • An apprenticeship in an Engineering discipline
  • Able to work on their own and manage their time
  • Available to travel if required in UK and abroad to meet the requirements of business
  • Good interpersonal skills and being able to communicate well with all departments and outside connections
