About the role

As a Project Engineer at Core Controls, you will play a key role in designing, building and implementing engineering solutions across multiple industries. You will work closely with customers, internal teams, and external stakeholders to ensure the delivery of cutting-edge solutions that meet customer requirements, adhere to industry standards, and achieve project objectives.

You are responsible for the work you complete being compliant with laws, regulations, standards, specifications and codes of practice as applicable.

As a Project Engineer you will

  • Design PLC and SCADA systems including sensor specification and interfacing as required
  • Work with our CAD engineer(s) to design panel layouts considering component spacing for heat dissipation, cable bend radius, cable segregation and access for construction/maintenance etc.
  • Create and modify PLC, HMI and SCADA software compliant with our CoP.
  • Design and assist the construction of test arrangements within our workshop and create Factory Test Specification documents ensuring all functionality is thoroughly tested including all conceivable faults in hardware, software and operation.
  • Undertake site testing as required by the project and supervise sub-contractors working on site.
  • Understand the client's requirements and our proposed solution as well as being able to identify and understand the relevant standards (international, British and client).
  • Produce method statements and risk assessments as required and create a Site Test Specification document ensuring all functionality is thoroughly tested including all conceivable faults in hardware, software and operation.

  • You must be able to comply with all parts of our ISO 9001, quality management system, ISO 45001, health and safety management system, ISO 14001, environmental management system and ISO 27001, information security management system.
  • Collaborate with all members of the project team, work to our standard project delivery process and develop our standard templates etc. when required.
  • Negotiate with the supply chain to obtain the best pricing possible
