Overview

Project Engineer

Contract: Banking

Location: London, EC2M 4AA

Hours of work: 40 (4 on, 4 off days/nights)

Contract Type: Permanent

We are seeking a motivated and technically skilled Project Engineer to join our team at 250 Bishopsgate, London. In this role, you will play a key part in the implementation and delivery of engineering projects, ensuring all works are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.

You will assist in all stages of project delivery - from planning, documentation, and installation through to handover and warranty management. This involves collaborating closely with the Technical Project Manager, on-site engineers, and the wider operational team to ensure seamless execution and compliance across all activities.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the delivery and coordination of projects, ensuring smooth and compliant implementation.
  • Maintain and manage project documentation, permits, and safe systems of work (SSOW).
  • Support the Technical Project Manager in planning, risk management, and reporting.
  • Liaise closely with operational teams to coordinate project and BAU activities, avoiding conflicts.
  • Oversee project handovers, warranty management, and technical documentation.
  • Monitor and enforce health, safety, and environmental compliance across all works.
  • Review and approve method statements and risk assessments for on-site activities.
  • Support in managing project risks, opportunities, and change control processes.
  • Maintain positive day-to-day client relationships, resolving operational issues promptly.
  • Ensure all works are delivered to ISS, client, and industry standards for quality and performance.
Qualifications
  • Educated to at least NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in an engineering discipline (electrical or mechanical).
  • HV/LV trained or working toward qualification preferred.
  • Demonstrable experience in project delivery within a facilities management or engineering environment.
  • Strong understanding of health & safety compliance and safe systems of work.
  • IT literate, with confident use of Microsoft Office, spreadsheets, and mobile applications.
  • Experience using permits to work systems and managing site documentation.
  • Familiarity with CDM regulations and statutory requirements within the construction sector.

  • Ability to work flexibly across shifts and support both projects and BAU operations.

  • Capable of hands-on technical support, including safe isolations and AP duties when required.
