TXM Recruit is seeking a Principal Designer in the UK to lead health and safety integration across complex intralogistics projects. The role involves working from home with travel to customer sites, aligning with CDM 2015 regulations and contributing to pre-construction design decisions.

You will coordinate design risk management, prepare pre-construction information, and compile the Health & Safety File while engaging with clients and designers.

Formación

• Experience in complex mechanical or electrical projects.
• Intralogistics warehousing experience including conveyors, cranes, shuttle systems.
• CDM 2015 PD experience and health & safety integration.
• NEBOSH Construction Certificate or IOSH membership is advantageous.

Responsabilidades

• Carry out Principal Designer duties in line with CDM Regulations 2015.
• Engage with clients and designers to integrate health & safety/design risk management into the project team.
• Lead the design risk management process applying prevention principles.
• Plan, manage, monitor and coordinate health & safety during pre-construction.
• Identify and issue project-specific pre-construction information for contractors.
• Health & Safety File compilation.
• Provide practical health & safety guidance to project teams.
• Manage multiple projects for key clients within the team.
• Read and understand client specifications and drawings.
• Determine project requirements and propose value engineering solutions.
• Consider site safety, health and environmental issues.
• Prepare and compile documentation for final proposals and submissions.
• Ensure commercial and technical submissions comply with regulations and contracts.

Principal Designer

TXM is recruiting for a leading automation and intralogistics company, seeking to hire a Principal Designer. My client are providers of automated systems for customers distribution warehouses.

In this position you will be responsible for carrying out your duties in line with CDM regulations 2015, health and safety, risk management, designing of escape/access route preconstruction and more.

A mixture of Working from home and traveling to customer sites.

Responsibilities:

• Carry out the duties of the Principal Designer in line with the requirements of the CDM Regulations 2015
• Engage with clients and designers to positively influence, enhance and integrate health & safety /design risk management into the project team, design team meetings and the construction phase
• Take ownership and lead the design risk management process whilst applying the general principles of prevention
• Effectively plan, manage, monitor and coordinate health and safety during the pre-construction phase when most design work is carried out
• Identify, compile and issue suitable project specific pre-construction information to assist contractors in managing significant risk once construction begins
• Health & Safety File compilation
• Provide clear, concise and practical health and safety advice, guidance and coaching to project teams at all stages of the project when required
• Management of multiple projects for key clients to the business
• Report to the Head of projects, programme and manage own workload within the Sales and Final Engineering teams
• Read and fully understand client specifications, documentation drawing and environments
• Ascertain preliminary and detailed project requirements and solutions, including value engineering solutions
• Consider site safety, health and environmental issues
• Compile and collate documentation, schedules and data sheets etc. for inclusion into final formal proposal submissions and final documentation
• Ensure that commercial and technical submissions are fully compliant all regulations along with the conditions of contract with all necessary details/clarifications/qualifications to the proposal clearly communicated

Required Experience and Skills:

• A history of working in complex Mechanical or Electrical Projects as either a project engineer or designer
• Intralogistics engineering experience in warehousing for conveyors, cranes, shuttle systems, racking and mezzanine systems and robotics
• Hold a design qualification. i.e. engineer or relevant experience preferably in a construction industry/automation/intralogistics industry
• Must have extensive experience & knowledge of construction design process and CDM PD experience (CDM 2015) and working as a Health & Safety Advisor within the construction industry/automation/intralogistics industry
• Hold a NEBOSH Construction Certificate – Valid within the last 5 years or Technical, Graduate or Chartered Membership of IOSH
