Job description
Overview

We’re looking for an experienced Project Director to join our Brand Engagement team at RY, working predominantly across campaigns, branding and employee experience - a brilliant opportunity to be part of an award-winning independent creative agency.

At RY, we help brands connect meaningfully with the people who matter most. From brand and behaviour change campaigns to strategic employee engagement, sustainability storytelling, compelling reporting and digital experiences, we bring ideas to life through creativity, insight and purpose.

Project Management sits at the heart of everything we do. It’s integral to ensuring we produce the very best work for our clients and helping to achieve our vision ‘to create a world that believes in business’.

We’re now looking for a Project Director who can help us deliver this work to the highest standard - on time, on budget whilst at the same time fostering a positive team culture that inspires your teams and ensures the best work gets done.

The Role

Project management sits at the heart of everything we do. As a Project Director, you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring that work flows smoothly through the agency - balancing creativity and commerciality, nurturing client relationships and helping our teams thrive. You’ll oversee complex brand and campaign projects, driving delivery excellence while supporting the development of those around you.

You’ll be accountable for project revenue targets, with a focus on maintaining a healthy balance between quality, efficiency and team wellbeing.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead and inspire cross-functional teams across creative, strategy, digital and client services to deliver standout work for our clients.
  • Oversee triage and planning, assessing feasibility, risks, timing, budgets and deliverables before a project begins.
  • Champion commercial awareness – managing budgets, tracking profitability, and communicating financial performance to clients and senior stakeholders.
  • Manage change with confidence, proactively advising clients on how scope shifts impact timings, deliverables and budgets.
  • Build trusted client relationships, acting as a calm, confident partner alongside our Client director, who balances strategic understanding with day-to-day delivery.
  • Foster team growth, supporting career development and ensuring your team has the tools, clarity and confidence to perform at their best.
  • Drive process improvement, identifying ways to make how we work even better and encouraging adoption across the business.
  • Spot growth opportunities to bring RY’s full offering to clients - helping them see how our strategic, creative and digital capabilities can strengthen their communications.
  • Proven experience delivering large-scale branding and campaign projects (both internal and external) in a creative or communications agency.
  • Experience in building relationships and growing clients.
  • A natural leader and collaborator with line management experience who brings the best out of those around them,
  • Confidence in commercial management, including billing accuracy, profitability tracking and proactive client reporting.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills - comfortable working with senior client teams, third-party suppliers and technical specialists.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities, with an authentic and engaging style that inspires trust.
  • A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset - balancing creativity with pragmatism and always striving for better ways of working.
  • Brings energy and positivity to the team - helping to build and add to a culture where people feel valued, motivated, and inspired to do great work and develop in their career.
Benefits

At RY, you’ll enjoy a fun and inspirational place to work, alongside some of the brightest and best in the business, a competitive salary benchmarked against industry standards, a culture that nurtures learning and development and embraces the flexibility of working from home and days in the London office. RY embraces diversity and equal opportunity. We are committed to building a team that represents a variety of backgrounds, perspectives, and skills. The more inclusive we are, the better our work will be.
