Job summary

Advance TRS is seeking an experienced Project Design Lead to provide engineering leadership across major water and wastewater infrastructure projects in the UK. You will lead membrane process design, coordinate with senior leads, review specifications, manage risks and support DCO pre-examination.

Requirements include a degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering with 10+ years in the water sector; Chartered Engineer or working towards Chartership is desirable, along with APM/PM qualifications.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering is required.
  • 10+ years’ experience in the water/wastewater sector.
  • APM/Project Management qualification desirable.
  • Chartered Engineer or working towards Chartership.
  • Strong experience with planning, design development and technical specifications.
  • Experience with DCO, Transport & Works Act Order or hybrid parliamentary bill documentation desirable.

  • Support technical teams to resolve design and delivery issues.

  • Identify risks and potential programme delays, escalating when required.
  • Support the team through DCO pre-examination and examination periods.

The Role
  • Lead design development for membrane process water treatment works, pumping stations, pipelines, shafts, deep pressure tanks and associated infrastructure.
  • Coordinate with Senior Project Design Leads to monitor progress, risks, resources, budgets and programme.
  • Support technical teams to resolve design and delivery issues.
  • Review and develop design and contract specifications for major water and wastewater projects.
  • Identify risks and potential programme delays, escalating where required.
  • Support the team through DCO pre-examination and examination periods.
About You
  • Degree-qualified in Civil or Mechanical Engineering.
  • 10+ years’ experience in the water/wastewater sector.
  • APM/Project Management qualification desirable.
  • Chartered Engineer or working towards Chartership.
  • Strong experience with planning, design development and technical specifications.
  • Excellent communication, coordination and report-writing skills.
  • Experience with DCO, Transport & Works Act Order or hybrid parliamentary bill documentation desirable.
