Job description

Job Description Summary
GE Vernova's Grid Automation business plays a critical role in protecting the world's power infrastructure. Our Transformer Monitoring Systems help grid operators, transmission and distribution companies, and industrial power users prevent equipment failures, plan maintenance effectively, and keep energy flowing. Based at our Centre of Excellence in Lisburn, Northern Ireland, this role sits at the heart of that mission.
Job Description

At GE Vernova, we are electrifying and decarbonising the world. Our Grid Automation business designs and delivers some of the most technically advanced Transformer Monitoring Systems (TMS) available globally. As a Project Delivery Manager within our Monitoring & Diagnostics team, you will be responsible for taking complex, customer-configured projects from handover through to successful delivery, working across engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and regional project teams to make it happen.

This is a role for someone who thrives on ownership, organisation, and cross-functional collaboration, and who understands that in our world, on-time delivery is not just a commercial requirement, it is critical to our customers' operational reliability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the end-to-end delivery of TMS projects from tendering handover through to completion, ensuring each project is delivered on time, within budget, and to the agreed specification.
  • Act as the primary delivery interface between the Lisburn CoE and the regional Grid Automation project management teams, providing clear and consistent communication throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Own project planning, scheduling, and milestone tracking across a concurrent portfolio of projects, coordinating activities across engineering, manufacturing, and global supply chain functions.
  • Proactively identify, log, and mitigate project risks and scope changes, maintaining an up-to-date risk register and escalating where necessary.
  • Manage customer technical interactions where required, supporting regional project managers in clarifying design specifications and gaining customer approval at key project stages.
  • Schedule, coordinate, and host Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) with customers.
  • Support cross-functional activities including tendering, vendor management, and manufacturing engagement as required.
  • Prepare and report project KPIs, keeping stakeholders informed of progress, risks, and delivery commitments.
  • Champion a positive environment, health, and safety culture, collaborating with EHS teams to prevent incidents and drive continuous improvement.

Essential Requirements:

  • Demonstrable experience in project delivery, programme management, or contract management in a technical or engineering environment, ideally involving bespoke, configured equipment or complex manufactured systems.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects, with strong planning, prioritisation, and risk management skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with confidence presenting project information to customers, internal teams, and senior stakeholders.
  • A degree or higher-level qualification in engineering, or equivalent professional experience in a technical project delivery role.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office tools including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and comfortable using collaborative project tracking platforms.
  • Fluent written and spoken English.
  • Valid passport & driver’s license with the ability to travel globally on an occasional basis (estimated up to 10% of working time).

Nice-to-have qualifications:

  • Experience in the energy, utilities, power generation, or transmission sector, or in another time‑critical industry such as aerospace, aviation, or construction.
  • Experience working within a matrix organisation or across globally dispersed, multicultural teams.
  • PRINCE2 or PMP certification, or another recognised project management qualification.
  • Familiarity with Lean methodologies or continuous improvement practices.
  • Experience using Smartsheet or similar project and workflow management tools.

What we offer:

  • Challenging and exciting projects.
  • A work environment where we understand that not everyone has the same expectations about their jobs, careers and work-life balance and we are happy to discuss flexibility requirements.
  • Attractive compensation consisting of a competitive base salary, annual performance incentives plus benefits.
  • Flexible benefits so you can build a package that fits your personal needs. Some core benefits are: Employer pension contribution (not subject to individual contribution), Income protection, Private Health Insurance and Life Assurance.
  • 26 days vacation + bank holidays.
