Job description

As a Project Delivery Manager, you'll play a key role in a program that redefines how we work. You'll champion new Ways of Working, embed agile practices and a product operating model, and partner with senior stakeholders to deliver measurable business outcomes. If you're a seasoned delivery professional who thrives in complex, multi‑organisational environments and loves building high‑performing teams, this is your chance to make a real impact.

At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You'll work at least two days a week (40%) away from home, moving to three days a week (60%) in the future. Away from home means either attendance at one of our office locations, visiting clients or attending industry events. We’re also happy to consider flexible working arrangements, which you can discuss with Talent Acquisition.

What you’ll be doing
  • Lead end‑to‑end delivery of projects within a portfolio, ensuring on time, on budget, and within scope and quality.
  • Drive the rollout of Ways of Working and agile practices, including a product operating model, governance, funding changes, and capacity/demand modelling.
  • Manage stakeholder engagement across UK functions and external partners; provide timely governance reporting to Steering Committees.
  • Build and lead cross‑functional, matrixed project teams; develop resource plans, budgets, risks, issues, and dependencies; produce key artefacts (business cases, forecasts, delivery plans).
  • Ensure quality, testing, and smooth handover to support; realise benefits and align with IT/Change standards and business outcomes.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Demonstrated experience designing and scaling a product operating model.
  • Proven track record delivering Target Operating Models and agile practices in complex, highly regulated/multi‑organisational environments.
  • Strong end‑to‑end project management experience (planning, RAID, budgeting, governance) and risk/issue management.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and ability to influence senior leaders; outstanding communication skills.
  • Budget control and third‑party/vendor management experience; adept at managing client and supplier relationships.
  • Ability to produce and maintain key artefacts (business cases, forecasts, delivery plans) and deliver effective governance reporting.
  • Show you meet the essential criteria as detailed in the job advert or job description.
Benefits
  • Competitive annual salary of up to £90,000
  • Discretionary company & performance‑based bonus
  • Contributory pension scheme (up to 12% employer contributions)
  • Life Assurance (up to 10 × annual salary)
  • Private medical cover
  • 28 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays
  • Opportunity to buy up to 5 extra days leave or sell up to 5 days leave
  • Wellbeing services & resources
  • AXA employee discounts
