EDF Energy offers a 12-month Project Delivery Industrial Placement on-site at Heysham 1, starting with a salary of £26,050 per year. You’ll launch your career as a Project Engineer/Project Manager with tailored training, mentorship, and real responsibilities.

You’ll help shape how projects are delivered, gaining experience in planning, design and execution, plus team collaboration and problem solving.

Qualifications

• Must be on track to achieve or have completed a 2:2 degree in Maths, Physics, Science, Engineering or Project Management.
• Right to work in the UK is required.
• Eligibility for Security Vetting will be assessed, with residency criteria.

The Opportunity

This 12-month placement offers a starting salary of £26,050 and the chance to work on site at #Heysham 1.

You’ll launch your career as a Project Engineer/Project Manager with our customised training programme. Taking on a real job at a junior level, you'll gain invaluable hands‑on experience while being mentored by highly skilled professionals.

You’ll help shape how we deliver projects and be involved with designing, planning and delivering work. You’ll also gain experience in team working, problem solving, and using human performance tools, with opportunities to experience plant operations and explore other areas of interest.

What You’ll Experience

During your Project Delivery Industrial Placement, you’ll gain an understanding of how multi‑million pound projects are delivered from concept, through design and to execution. You’ll learn about systems vital to the smooth operation of a Nuclear Power Station, including safety protocols, technical governance, quality assurance, analysis, communication strategies, and IT systems.

Additionally, you’ll have the opportunity to further develop Planning & Project Management skills, to build and develop a network to allow successful delivery of work packages.

Your Work Location

You’ll be based on site at #Heysham 1 Power Station, within the Project Delivery team.

Who You Are

To be eligible for this scheme, you need to be on track to achieve, or have already achieved, a 2:2 undergraduate or postgraduate degree in Maths, Physics, Science, Engineering or Project Management.

It is a requirement that those who join us have the right to work in the UK. Whilst sponsorship may be a possibility, we reserve the right in our decisions to give priority to those who already have the right to work in the UK.

To be appointed to this role, you will need to meet the criteria for Security Vetting, which will, ordinarily, require you to have been a resident of the UK for at least three of the past five years.
