The ideal candidate will have over 3 years of project management experience and proficiency in MS Project, Excel, and various office tools. The position offers an hourly compensation of up to £26.40 PAYE or £35.85 via Umbrella contract.

Job description
Overview

Project Coordinator — Peterborough (PE1). Full-time on site. Initial 12 month contract with potential extension for the right candidate. Hours: 37 per week, 8:30 – 16:45 Monday to Thursday, 8:30 – 16:15 Friday. Compensation: up to £26.40 per hour PAYE / up to £35.85 per hour via Umbrella contract.

Our client is a world leader in the design, manufacture and support of engines. They are looking to extend their Program/Project Management team in Peterborough, with potential work across engineering and research projects, facility new technologies, marketing and IT projects, heavy machinery upgrades, and NPI research. This is a diverse and varied role.

Responsibilities
  • Support Program Leads on allocated projects to ensure delivery on time, within budget, and to required quality.
  • Facilitate team meetings, ensure action points are assigned and delivered by agreed dates.
  • Utilise MS Project (desirable) and contribute to scheduling, planning, and tracking.
  • Prepare and maintain project documentation including charters, schedules, issues/action logs, risk registers/FMEAs, scope change requests/logs, program work plans, and program cost tracking.
  • Provide general workshop planning, execution, and follow-up assistance.
Skills & Qualifications
  • Minimum 3 years of demonstrable job-related experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of project management software; MS Project is desirable.
  • Strong Excel skills (complex formulas, linking multiple worksheets, pivot tables, graphs) and proficiency with MS Office (Excel/Word/PowerPoint), Adobe Acrobat, and Web Publishing tools.
  • Proven experience with project management concepts and delivering projects on time.
  • Experience creating & maintaining issues/action logs, risk registers, scope change requests/logs, program work plans, and cost tracking.
  • Strong project management and indirect leadership skills; excellent communication, multitasking, analytical and organizational abilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to handle sensitive issues and influence stakeholders.
  • Prince 2 / PMP or equivalent qualification and Six Sigma experience would be advantageous.
