Job summary

PSR Solutions in London is seeking an experienced Technical Controller to support cost reporting, budget monitoring and performance analysis on major construction projects. This role blends commercial management, project controls and financial performance, with collaboration alongside Project Managers and Commercial Managers to drive project success.

Ideal candidates will have 5+ years as a Quantity Surveyor with CVR/reporting experience, strong cost management skills, and proficiency in Excel

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience in Quantity Surveying, ideally with a Tier 1 or Tier 2 main contractor.
• Strong experience producing and analysing CVRs, cost reports and project forecasts.
• Good understanding of construction programmes, project delivery and cost management.
• Experience monitoring site progress, productivity and installed quantities.
• Ability to identify cost discrepancies and work with project teams to resolve them. Strong communication skills and the confidence to engage with senior leadership.
• Good knowledge of construction reporting systems, Excel and commercial software.
• An interest in digital innovation, advanced reporting tools and the practical use of AI within construction.
• A relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering or a related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain accurate project budgets and cost forecasts.
• Prepare, manage and analyse monthly Cost Value Reconciliation (CVR) reports.
• Monitor project costs, productivity and financial performance, identifying potential risks and deviations from budget.
• Track construction progress and installed quantities against programme and forecast expenditure.
• Work closely with Project Managers and Commercial Managers to understand project performance and recommend corrective actions.
• Support the development and implementation of cost-control procedures and reporting systems.
• Produce accurate monthly project reports for senior management.
• Liaise with finance and commercial teams to reconcile costs, accruals and project expenditure.
• Support pre-construction teams with cost information, budget development and lessons learned from live projects.
• Assist with internal reporting, governance requirements and audit processes.
• Contribute to the development of improved reporting systems, digital tools and new technologies across the business.
