Job summary

Tractebel UK is seeking a Project Controls professional to manage cost, schedule, risk and quality across complex engineering projects. You will work with Project Managers and technical teams to ensure reliable information supports decisions.

Using Planisware, MS Project and BI tools, you will forecast, report and monitor progress, helping teams stay aligned with budgets and timelines in a sustainable energy context. Hybrid work in Bristol is offered.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Project Controls, Finance, or similar technical field.
  • Experience in project controls, planning, governance, and reporting on complex projects.
  • Strong cost forecasting and schedule management capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain project controls processes for delivery.
  • Produce/update schedules, forecasts, and performance reports.
  • Monitor cost, schedule, and resources; highlight trends and risks.
  • Support project managers with progress tracking and change management.
  • Promote use of Planisware and Power BI; share lessons learned.

Your Mission

Tractebel UK is recruiting for a Project Controls professional (cost, schedule, risk and/or quality) across complex engineering and project delivery activities, ensuring that Project controls are effectively managed throughout the project lifecycle.

You will contribute to the successful delivery of complex engineering projects by providing reliable cost, schedule and performance information that supports effective project decision-making. Working closely with Project Managers, planners and technical teams, you will help ensure projects remain aligned to their objectives, budgets and timelines.

Using project controls methodologies and tools such as Planisware, Microsoft Project, etc. you will support planning, forecasting, reporting and progress monitoring activities, helping teams identify issues early and maintain delivery performance. Your contribution will be key to delivering projects that support the transition to a more sustainable energy future.

You will find your time deployed both on supporting internal activities as part of Tractebel UK Operations Team as well as supporting individual Projects either as part of Project Delivery Teams and/or Consortiums depending on business need.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintaining project controls processes to support effective project delivery.
  • Producing and updating project schedules, forecasts and performance reports
  • Monitoring project cost, schedule and resource data, highlighting trends, deviations, risks and areas requiring attention.
  • Supporting project managers and local teams with progress tracking, change management and performance analysis.
  • Working with stakeholders to ensure accurate reporting and alignment of project activities.
  • Providing insights and recommendations to support project planning, reporting and decision-making.
  • Contributing to governance activities and helping maintain high standards of project control and reporting.
  • Promoting effective use of Planisware and/or Power BI, and related trainings.
  • Capturing and sharing lessons learned across BA GEN and with Project Support Officer Team.
We would love to hear from people with
  • Degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Project Controls, Finance, or similar technical field.
  • Experience within project controls, planning, risk, PMO, governance, reporting, quality or project delivery roles on complex engineering or infrastructure projects.
  • Applying project controls principles across the project lifecycle.
  • Managing cost forecasting, budget monitoring and performance reporting.
  • Developing and maintaining project schedules using Planisware or comparable planning and project controls systems.
  • Tracking project progress and analysing performance against key milestones and delivery objectives.
  • Coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to manage dependencies, risks and delivery priorities.
  • Preparing reports and presenting project information to a range of stakeholders.

  • Proactive and improvement focused mindset, contributing to better processes, tools, and cost engineering practices.
