Job summary

South East Water is seeking a Project Controller to own Primavera P6 scheduling, enforce change governance and steer major infrastructure projects through funding and gateways. You will transform complex data into clear progress insights and uphold robust governance across programmes.

You’ll manage monthly P6 updates, baselining, and reporting of earned value, SPI and CPI, while coordinating with site teams and contractors to keep projects on time and on budget.

• P6 Primavera formal training to professional level.
• Excellent report writing and editorial skills.
• Delivery focused with a team ethos and strong organisation.
• Experience using P6 as a project controller in construction.
• Strong planning and scheduling capabilities.
• Knowledge of Change Management.
• Understanding of Earned Value and VOWD.
• Awareness of Health and Safety regulations affecting project work.
• Experience on major multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• Update monthly all project programmes on P6 and ensure accuracy; challenge deviations.
• Complete funding requests (CER) for projects in portfolio.
• Process change requests via IMS and follow the change process.
• Basel ine programmes and manage changes against baseline.
• Produce reports for earned value including SPI and CPI.
• Initiate projects on P6 from IMS as required.
• Identify and report schedule or cost variances.
• Review contractor programmes for NEC contract compliance.
• Support Health & Safety by site observations and safety checks.
• Attend site progress meetings with contractors as required.

Summary:

Are you a Primavera P6 expert who thrives on bringing structure, clarity, and precision to complex engineering environments?

Do you have the technical sharpness and governance mindset needed to keep projects running smoothly, on budget, and on schedule?

The Project Controller will be tasked with driving our engineering portfolio forward. In this pivotal role, you will serve as the engine room of our project delivery—taking full ownership of Primavera (P6) scheduling, enforcing robust change management, and steering projects seamlessly through critical funding and gateway milestones. As Project Controller you will excel at turning complex data into accurate progress insights and holding project governance to the highest standard.

Main responsibilities:

• Update monthly all project programmes on P6 and sure programmes are an accurate reflection and challenge any key areas that are not.
• Complete all funding requests (CER) for projects within relevant portfolio.
• Complete all change requests via the IMS systems and ensure change process is followed.
• Ensure all programmes are baselined and change managed against the baseline.
• Run the relevant reports for earned value including SPI and CPI.
• Initiate projects on P6 as required from the IMS system.
• Identify and report on any schedule variance or cost variance.
• Review contractor programmes for compliance with NEC contracts and relevant contractual obligations.
• Support a H&S initiative by attending site identifying any safety concerns via a Safety Observation.
• Attend site progress meetings with the contractor as required.

You’ll need:

• P6 primavera formal training to professional level.
• Excellent report writing and editorial skills, and good oral communication.
• Delivery focussed with a good team ethic and organisational skills.
• Experience in using P6 as a project controller in the construction industry.
• Expert planning and scheduling knowledge.
• Have a good understanding of Change Management.
• Have a technical understanding of Earned Value & VOWD.
• Understanding of the Health and Safety regulations that affect their area of work.
• Relevant construction experience on major multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects.

Compensation package:
