Job summary

South East Water is seeking a Project Controller with Primavera P6 expertise to drive our engineering portfolio. You will own scheduling, enforce change management, and guide projects through funding and gateway milestones with precise progress insights.

You will turn complex data into clear reports, uphold project governance, and collaborate with site teams to ensure safety and compliance on major infrastructure programmes.

Qualifications

  • P6 Primavera training to professional level.
  • Excellent report writing and editorial skills, and good oral communication.
  • Delivery focussed with a good team ethic and organisational skills.
  • Experience in using P6 as a project controller in the construction industry.
  • Expert planning and scheduling knowledge.
  • Have a good understanding of Change Management.
  • Have a technical understanding of Earned Value & VOWD.
  • Understanding of Health and Safety regulations that affect their area of work.
  • Relevant construction experience on major multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

  • Update monthly all project programmes on P6 and ensure programmes are an accurate reflection and challenge any key areas that are not.
  • Complete all funding requests (CER) for projects within relevant portfolio.
  • Complete all change requests via the IMS systems and ensure change process is followed.
  • Ensure all programmes are baselined and change managed against the baseline.
  • Run the relevant reports for earned value including SPI and CPI.
  • Initiate projects on P6 as required from the IMS system.
  • Identify and report on any schedule variance or cost variance.
  • Review contractor programmes for compliance with NEC contracts and relevant contractual obligations.
  • Support a H&S initiative by attending site identifying any safety concerns via a Safety Observation.
  • Attend site progress meetings with the contractor as required.

Summary: Are you a Primavera P6 expert who thrives on bringing structure, clarity, and precision to complex engineering environments? Do you have the technical sharpness and governance mindset needed to keep projects running smoothly, on budget, and on schedule? The Project Controller will be tasked with driving our engineering portfolio forward. In this pivotal role, you will serve as the engine room of our project delivery—taking full ownership of Primavera (P6) scheduling, enforcing robust change management, and steering projects seamlessly through critical funding and gateway milestones. As Project Controller you will excel at turning complex data into accurate progress insights and holding project governance to the highest standard.

Main responsibilities

  • Compensation package: Up to £50,000 dependant on experience.
