Job summary

Outsource UK is seeking a Project Controls Risk Consultant to support major defence programmes in the UK, with a hybrid working pattern (on-site or local office 3 days a week). You will lead risk workshops, manage risk registers, produce management information for senior stakeholders and embed risk management into project planning and decision making.

Degree qualification is required; membership with APM/IRM/PMI is desirable.

• Degree qualified in a relevant discipline.
• Membership with APM/IRM/PMI desirable.
• Willingness to travel to client sites as required.

Responsibilities

• Lead risk identification, assessment and prioritisation workshops with project teams and stakeholders
• Manage project risk registers and governance of threats/opportunities
• Monitor overall risk exposure and contingency requirements
• Produce risk reports, analysis and management information for senior stakeholders
• Support quantitative cost and schedule risk analyses
• Embed risk management into project planning and decision making
• Use industry standard risk management tools and reporting platforms
• Deliver risk management in complex projects or programmes
• Understand integrated project controls and risk management principles
• Facilitate workshops with senior stakeholders
• Knowledge of quantitative risk analysis methodologies
• Experience in Defence, Central Government, Infrastructure or Capital Projects
• Proficiency with Primavera Risk Analysis, Safran Risk, ARM, Predict!
• Strong analytical, reporting and communication skills

Join a leading global professional services organisation delivering complex, high profile programmes across the UK Defence sector. This is an opportunity to contribute to projects of national importance, supporting major defence and security programmes that enhance UK capability across land, sea, air, cyber and space domains.

Working on a hybrid model, you will be either on site or in your local office 3 days per week.

The Role

As a Project Controls Risk Consultant, you will support the successful delivery of major projects and programmes through the implementation and management of robust risk management processes.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading risk identification, assessment and prioritisation workshops with project teams and stakeholders
• Managing project risk registers and ensuring effective governance of threats and opportunities
• Monitoring overall risk exposure and contingency requirements
• Producing risk reports, analysis and management information for senior stakeholders
• Supporting quantitative risk assessments for cost and schedule risk analysis
• Embedding risk management into project planning and decision making processes
• Using industry standard risk management tools and reporting platforms
• Experience delivering risk management within complex projects or programmes
• Strong understanding of integrated project controls and risk management principles
• Experience facilitating workshops and engaging with senior stakeholders
• Knowledge of quantitative risk analysis methodologies for cost and schedule risk
• Experience working within Defence, Central Government, Infrastructure or Capital Projects environments
• Proficiency with tools such as Primavera Risk Analysis, Safran Risk, Active Risk Manager (ARM), Predict! or similar platforms
• Strong analytical, reporting and communication skills

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in a relevant discipline or equivalent professional experience
• Professional membership or working towards membership with APM, IRM, PMI or a similar body is desirable
• Ability to travel to client sites as required
