The role

As a Project Assistant, you’ll have a role that is out of the ordinary. You’ll support our Senior Project Manager and Programme Manager on the Rep‑U project within Civil Decommissioning—contributing to complex engineering design work that safeguards communities and the environment.

Day-to-day, you’ll be required to:

  • Support recruitment, onboarding and resource coordination for the programme—ensuring new starters are set up efficiently and for success
  • Assist with project planning, scheduling, actions‑tracking and low‑level project management activities including tracking of KPIs
  • Prepare concise project reports, dashboards and documentation to keep leadership and customers informed
  • Engage with stakeholders—internal teams, suppliers and clients—to progress actions and resolve queries
  • Coordinate meetings and deliverables, maintaining accurate records and following up on decisions

This is a permanent position, working 37 hours per week with an early finish on Fridays. It is based in Warrington, Cheshire and Preston, Lancashire with an initial even split across both sites; the team plans to relocate to Chorley in due course.

Essential experience of the Project Assistant
  • Awareness of the project lifecycle and how projects move from design through delivery
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and strong written and verbal communication skills
